As enthusiastic birders ourselves, we at KKT believe that all “avid birders” began as “casual birders,” subsequently we have prepared itineraries with the intent to fulfill the ambitions of everybody, by allowing the enthusiasm of both categories of “birders” to combine into a memorable experience. A specialist birding guide will lead the trips while local guides will be available to assist where necessary.

Our Program (8 Days/ 7 Nights)

DAY 1
Arrival at Zanzibar International Airport ( pm) – Collection by KKT representative and transport to overnight accommodation.
DAY 2
Early morning rise for flight to island of Pemba/Ngezi Forest for full day birding particularly looking, amongst others, for the endemics, Pemba White Eye and Green Pigeon . We overnight in Pemba.
DAY 3
Again we are up with the birds for flight to Tanga on the main land. We drive along the coastal zone, noting the variety of sea birds, before heading up to East Usambara mountains through Amani Hills and overnight.
DAY 4
Full day birding in the forest reserve is spent looking for specials such as the Hyliota, Usabara Akalat, Long Billed Tailor Bird and reclusive Usambara Eagle owl. We overnight in the forest reserve.
DAY 5
We leave early, drive down and then ascend again to West Usambara Range for some evening birding, looking for owls and other nocturnal species before overnighting in Lushoto.
DAY 6
Full day birding within local farms and plantations searching for threatened species such as the Usambara Weaver, Mountain Tiny Greenbul and Spot Throated Modulatrix. We overnight in Lushoto .
DAY 7
We finally drive down drive down to a corridor of drier woodlands and spend an afternoon birding looking for multiple species such as Barbets ,the Red -fronted Warbler and Go-away Birds amongst many others. We overnight in nearby Same.
DAY 8
We return to the woodlands for some early morning birding, before departing for an afternoon drive to Arusha to meet the main tour. We overnight near Arusha Park.
Some guests may now either depart or continue on with the NORTHERN PARKS sector.

HOW TO MAKE PAYMENT
Payment can be made by direct transfer or by credit card through our bank, National Microfinance Bank (NMB) Arusha in accordance with the preference of individual clients and the final invoice at the time of completing the reservation.
Terms & Conditions
Booking
Please ensure that you have read and agreed with the final quote and itinerary before booking your tour. Check group size, accommodations lodges, travel dates, activities, inclusions and exclusions before making a decision. We reserve the right to book the lodges upon availability and alter activities and itineraries in the event of circumstances beyond our control. We will do our best to replace any particular service with something of equal quality and interest in such cases.
Payment
In order to secure your booking a 30% deposit of the total cost is required except when your booking date is less than four weeks prior to the tour start date in which case 100% of your payment is required. Once your down payment is applied, we will email you an invoice to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is required four weeks prior to the tour start date.
Cancellation Policy
Force Majeure
